Family Dog Show and Fun Day at the Venton Centre, Saturday 25 September

You may be aware that the Branch is celebrating 25 years since we opened the Venton Rehoming Centre to provide care and assistance to animals in need throughout Cornwall.  Since then, we have rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed 1000’s of neglected, abandoned and unwanted animals in the County.

To mark this milestone, we held our Dog Show and Late Summer Fete on 25 September.  This was a valuable fundraising day for us, as we were unable to hold our usual Summer Fete last year due to Covid, and we were thrilled to see so many supporters at this event.  A full report and photos will follow, along with the final total raised as soon as our Finance Department have finished their calculations.  We would like to thank everyone who joined us, as visitors to the event, stall-holders and the fellow animal charities who had their own stalls on the day.

Our next fundraising events are currently in the planning stages, but we do have a diary date for you as on Saturday 4 December, we are planning our Christmas Fayre.  More details will follow here and on our Facebook page.

“25 Challenge”

As part of our 25th Anniversary, we are also putting out a “25 Challenge” to all our staff.  As part of this, Emily, our Branch Development Manager has agreed to experience life as one of our Centre dogs and will be spending 25 hours in a Kennel.  She will be allowed out for toilet breaks and exercise, but will have all her meals brought to her by our staff!

If you would like to sponsor Emily for this challenge, you can find her Justgiving page here
