Report on the Summer Fete and Fun Dog Show
Show - Saturday, 3rd June 2017

Tannoy announcements made by Jason and the Community and Hospital Broadcasting Network, who kindly brought their sound equipment and entertained us.

The weather report said scattered showers for Saturday 3rd June. The sky was bright, it wasn't too hot for the dogs but just before we started the dog show we had a downpour. We all ran for cover but this young lad had the bright idea of sheltering under the blackboard easel with his dog.

After that there was no more rain and everyone was able to enjoy taking part in the dog show and having a go in the agility, temptation alley and speed jumping. Hook a duck is always popular, and we introduced welly wanging to join the coconut shy. As usual we had super prizes for games winners and beautiful rosettes for the dogs.

Volunteers and staff made the day a huge success, and local business sponsors contributed to the event's £4,500 profit which directly funds the Venton Animal Centre.
