RSPCA Cornwall is run as an independent Branch from the National RSPCA, and as such, receives no direct funding from the RSPCA to run our rehoming centre or support the animal welfare work we provide in the county. We rely on local fundraising, sponsors and donations to maintain our finances. There are many ways you can support the work of RSPCA Cornwall Branch.
A donation to RSPCA Cornwall Branch can be made by ‘phone, in person or by post. We accept cheques – Payable to RSPCA Cornwall Branch please, or payment by credit/debit cards.
We also have a Justgiving page, where you can donate direct to the Branch:
By becoming a Friend of the Branch you can make a regular contribution (minimum of £10/annum). This can either be paid by cheque, or you can set up a Standing order. If you would like to apply to become a “Friend” forms are available from the Admin Officer at the Venton Centre address, or contact us by email: email@example.com. You can also Gift Aid any donation/friend’s membership you make if you are a UK tax payer. This allows the Branch to claim 25p per £1 you give us from HMRC. You will need to indicate your wish to Gift Aid your donation by ticking the relevant box when completing the form.
If you would consider leaving something to us in your Will, all Legacies to the Branch need to be specifically worded in order to ensure RSPCA Cornwall receive the money locally.
A legacy or bequest will provide crucial funds to enable the Venton Centre to continue to offer our rehoming service to hundreds of abandoned, unwanted and mistreated animals every year.
You may wish to discuss this with your solicitor for advice on how to include a suitable statement in your Will, but if you would specifically like the animals in Cornwall to benefit, we respectfully suggest your legacy wording reads:
I give devise and bequeath to the RSPCA Cornwall Branch registered charity number 1024808 the sum of £xx or the whole (or a share) of my residuary estate for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the charity shall be sufficient discharge therefore.
Please note: It would help us if you would kindly let us know if you are bequeathing anything to us in this way. All we need is your name and address for our details. All this information will be kept STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or write to the Admin Officer at the Venton Centre address, to provide your name and address for our records.
Did you know that you can arrange to have your pet looked after and found a new loving home after you pass away? Please see Peace of Mind for details of how to register your pet with us.
Giveacar is a not-for-profit social enterprise that can turn your old car into cash for a UK charity. They arrange free collection then either sell your car at auction or scrap it with the proceeds raised going to your chosen charity.
The UK’s first car donation scheme, Giveacar has won awards and has now supported over 1,000 charities with the money raised from old cars. Using a nationwide network of breakers yards and salvage partners, they have handled the auction and disposal of over 8,000 vehicles so they know how to raise the best value possible whether your car is in perfect condition or not. If you need to get rid of an old car and would like to support your RSPCA Cornwall at the same time, give them a call on 0207 736 4242 or see our entry on their website:
